Robots can be used as a highly flexible solution to product inspection and verification tasks. Where cycle times permit, a robot, especially the 6 axis variety, can be used to either pick up a product and present it to one or more machine vision cameras for inspection, or carry the camera and position it where required.
The ability to easily re-programme a robot for a variety of different product types means that pre-prepared inspection routines can be automatically selected as different parts are presented to the system. The capabilities of today's machine vision systems make it possible to perform a wide range of inspection and verification tasks.
